Her body getting shifted to Hospital | Mathrubhumi

Kottayam: The complainant in the sensational Karukachal wife-swapping case, was allegedly hacked to death inside her house on Friday morning. The young woman was found lying in a pool of blood by her children.

The woman, who was living separately from her husband, had been residing at her family house with her children, father and brother.

None of the family members were present when the incident happened. The children were playing outside and the incident came to light when they returned home. The children alerted the neighbour and the person brought the incident to the attention of the ward member, who informed the police.

The body has been shifted to Kottayam Medical College. The deceased's father alleged that his son-in-law was behind the murder.

In January 2022, the now-deceased woman made a sensational revelation online, leading the police to crack down on a wife-swapping racket in Karukachal.

She revealed that she was the wife of one of the members of the racket and lodged a complaint with Karukachal police alleging that her husband forced her to have sexual relations with another person.

Following a string of arrests, police uncovered a large network involving more than 1,000 members.
