Kasaragod: Police have registered a case against reality TV show star and model Shiyas Kareem over a sexual assault complaint by a woman gym trainer.
According to the case registered at Chanthera Police, Shiyas allegedly sexually assaulted the complainant on multiple occasions after promising to marry her. Shiyas impregnated the woman and forced her to undergo abortion. The complainant has also accused Shiyas of swindling Rs 11 lakh.
The repeated sexual assaults happened in various Kochi hotels from 2021 to 2023, the complaint said.
The police have slapped Shiyas with relevant charges as per the complaint. It is learnt that the officials have recorded the statement of the complainant and staff at one of the Kochi hotels.
