Vizhinjam: Vizhinjam police arrested SS Aswathy, a 29-year-old resident of Venganoor, on charges of cheating and embezzlement.

Aswathy posed as a police officer on leave and swindled Rs. 1,60,000 from a woman named Anupama, a resident of Kottukal, by falsely promising her a job in the police department.

Aswathy was produced in court and remanded. The culprit was arrested by a team of police including S.H.O Prajeesh Sasi, S.I. G. Vinod, S.I. A. Harshkumar, Lekha and Vijitha.
