Thiruvananthapuram: The Nedumangad police on Tuesday registered a case and launched a probe against a circle inspector after a woman lodged a sexual harrassment complaint against him.
The accused has been identified as Saiju AV, circle inspector at Kochi control room. According to the complainant, she was sexually harrassed by the CI, who had been her friend for several years.
Meanwhile, Saiju has been suspended from service after it was found that he had forged documents to obtain bail in another case.
The woman had lodged the complaint with the Nedumangad police on Tuesday. The police have also registered a case against the complainant and her husband based on a complaint lodged by Saiju’s wife.
Saiju is also an accused in sexually assaulting a female doctor in Malayinkeezhu. However, he was granted bail by the High Court in the case.
