Ollur: A 57-year-old woman died after a car rammed into an auto on Saturday night near Companypadi. Peruvamkulangara native Rosy died in the accident, while her husband Francis, daughter-in-law, three grandchildren and auto driver were injured. Auto driver Ajeesh is in critical condition. The passengers in the car, Mary Francis (57) and her son Melvin (22) were also injured.
The passengers in the auto were returning after watching a movie in Thrissur. Those in the car were returning from Angamali.
They were taken to the hospital by the police and the Accident Care and Transport Service (ACTS) workers. Rosy’s husband and grandchildren Juana, Jafatha and Mariam are undergoing treatment at the Jubilee Mission hospital. Her daughter-in-law Shini returned home after receiving primary treatment. Rosy’s body has been kept at the mortuary of a private hospital after postmortem.
Rosy, Francis and their family went to Thrissur to celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary. Their daughter Diji and son Dijo were following the auto in their two-wheelers. The car that was coming in the opposite direction lost control and rammed the auto. Rosy died before reaching the hospital.
