Kozhikode: A young woman died in a road accident at Thamarassery Ghat road on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Sakeena Banu (25), wife of Koduvally native Haneefa.
The incident happened around 4 pm near the first hairpin curve of the Ghat road. A pick-up van laden with wood and Haneefa's bike was involved in the accident. However, it is unclear how the accident transpired.
Haneefa was riding the bike with Sakeena riding the pillion along with two of their children.
The injured family were soon rushed to Kozhikode Medical College. However, Sakeena succumbed to her injuries. Meanwhile, it is learned that the condition of one of the children remains critical.
