Kochi: Police informed that the woman found unconscious in a lodge near the south railway station was intoxicated with a psychotropic substance. Police have registered a case against the woman, who is a Kozhikode native. Police have obtained the statement of the accused, who is under treatment at private hospital in Ernakulam. According to reports, she is admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.
Police confirmed that the drug used by the woman was MDMA.
The woman was found unconscious in a lodge in Ernakulam on Wednesday night. The other woman with her was set free with her parents on Thursday. They were also accompanied by two male companions who are Kasargod natives. Police released them after a detailed interrogation.
A staff member at the lodge said that the woman was weak when the group carried her to the room. When enquired, they told the staff that she was infected by food poisoning. The men told the staff that the room was taken for the two women and they will leave soon.
According to reports, the women had reached Ernakulam to attend an interview on June 27 from Kozhikode.
