Kadakkavoor: The Kadakkavoor Police on Friday nabbed a woman for allegedly swindling money from several people after promising partnership in jewelleries in Attingal, Chirayinkeezhu and Kallambalam.
The accused has been identified as Baby, a native of Nilakkamukku in Kadakkavoor. She was arrested following an investigation based on a complaint lodged by Manoj, a native of Mananakku.
According to the complainant, Baby had taken money from him and his wife offering partnership in a jewellery, but failed to deliver on her promise or return the money.
During the investigation, it was found that she had extorted crores of rupees from several people.
“More people are involved in the fraud along with Baby,” said the police.
