Sheeja
Idukki: The body of a 27-year old woman was found hanging at her husbands’ house in Valacode here on Friday. The family of the deceased has raised allegations against the husband and his family.
The deceased has been identified as MK Sheeja, daughter of Haileyburia couple Kuttappan and Chinnama.
Sheeja was married to PS Jobeesh 10 months ago. According to Sheeja’s family, Jobeesh used to drink alcohol and beat her up. Jobeesh’s parents too had spat with her, the family alleged.
Sheeja had been at her own house for the last two weeks. There was a move to resolve the issue between the couple and a few days ago, Jobeesh took her to his house.
The couple had visited Kuttappan and Chinnama on Thiruonam day, i.e Thursday. They left by 4:00 PM and by Friday 9:40 AM Jobeesh informed Sheeja’s family that she had “gone” and they should come immediately.
Sheeja’s family said that when they reached Jobeesh's house, only his parents were there. When enquired, his parents said that she is in hospital. Sheeja’s family reportedly came to know about her death after reaching the hospital.
The deceased’s family urged the authorities concerned to probe the death. Inquest procedures are completed and the body has been shifted to Idukki Medical College.
