Thiruvananthapuram: A man, who tried to commit suicide in a car after getting into an argument with his friend, who is a lady doctor, has been arrested. Sarath Raj (27) was arrested by Parassala Police after he was discharged from Thiruvananthapuram Medical College. He was arrested following the complaint filed by the doctor. The incident happened on October 20.
The youngster and the complainant doctor met while working for the Covid resistance activities. On October 20, they arrived near Udiyankulangara in a car at noon. While they were conversing in the car, the man suddenly lost his temper and tried to attack the woman. When the locals surrounded the car and restrained the man, the woman revealed that he had consumed a poisonous substance.
The people who were around at the time of the incident shifted the man to Neyyattinkara district hospital with the help of the police. First the woman tried to file a complaint at Parassala police station that day, she said that the case need not be registered immediately.
After two days, the woman came to the police station with her father and requested to register a case and also gave her statement. Parassala Police Station then filed a case against the accused. The man who was undergoing treatment at Neyyattinkara district hospital was first shifted to a private hospital and then to Thiruvananthapuram Medical College.
