Bhargavi
Srikrishnapuram: An elderly woman, who was under treatment for a snake bite, passed away on Monday morning She sustained snake bite when she put her hand into a plastic bag kept near the firewood storage shed.
The deceased is Tharavath Bhargavi (69), who was a cook at AUP school in Punchapadam. The locals claimed that a cobra had bit Bhargavi when she put her hand into a polythene bag hung on the wall of the firewood storage shed near her house. The snake was not caught.
The incident happened at 10.30 am on Saturday. Bhargavi’s relatives and locals rushed her to a private hospital in Ottapalam. She was unconscious before she was admitted to the hospital and died on Monday morning.
Bhargavi was a cook at Punchapadam school for 36 years. She is survived by husband Subramanian and children Sujitha, Suresh and Subhash.
