Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala reported 3,110 fresh Covid-19 cases on Monday, informed Health Minister K. K. Shailaja in a press release.
35,281 samples were tested in the last 24 hours and the test positivity rate was at 8.81 percent. 3,922 recoveries were also recorded on Monday.
2,730 people have contracted the virus through contact. The source of 295 contact cases could not be traced. 20 deaths have been confirmed in the last 24 hours.

One of the UK returnees tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. So far, 54 UK returnees have tested positive for coronavirus. Their samples were sent to Pune NIV for further tests. Out of them, 6 have been identified as mutant virus strain.

40 health workers have tested positive. Among them, 8 were from Thiruvananthapuram, 7 from Ernakulam, 6 from Palakkad, 5 from Kozhikode, 4 from Kannur, 2 each from Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Wayanad and Kasaragod and 1 each from Kottayam and Malappuram.

Currently, there are 63,346 Covid positive cases in the state. Meanwhile, 7,47,389 people have recovered from the disease. There are 1,99,398 people under observation in the state. Out of this, 1,88,616 are under home/ institutional quarantine and 10,782 people are in hospitals. 984 people were taken to hospitals on Monday.
1 area has been declared a hotspot on Monday. Meanwhile, 2 areas were removed from the hotspot list. With this, there are a total of 440 hotspots in the state.
