Wind, wave warning: Fisherfolk refrained from venturing into sea till Monday
Thiruvananthapuram: Fisherfolk have been refrained from venturing into the sea as west/south-west winds with speeds reaching 40 to 50 kilometres per hour (kmph) could hit the Kerala coast.
The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) has issued the warning after heavy rains continued to batter the state. KSDMA also cautioned the fisherfolk about giant waves.
Strong winds with speeds reaching 40 to 50 kmph is likely to hit west-central and south west Bay of Bengal and Andaman sea.
Strong winds with speeds reaching 40 to 50 kmph is likely to hit central and south-west Arabian sea between Wednesday (08-08-2019) and Friday (10-08-2019).

The Kerala coast between Pozhiyoor and Kasaragod is likely to witness waves as high as 3.5 metres till 11.30 pm on Friday, said Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS).
