Palakkad: Speaker MB Rajesh expressed his happiness on getting an entry to state the cabinet. He will replace excise minister MV Govindan who resigned from the post after assuming charge as state CPM secretary.
“I will try my maximum to deliver my responsibilities,” said Speaker MB Rajesh here on Friday, reacting to reports on CPM’s decision to enshrine him with the ministerial role.
“It is just like getting another responsibility. I always strive my best to fulfil my responsibilities. I will do the same in this new role too,” he said.
Rajesh referred to his experience as Speaker of Assembly as a ‘valuable one’. “Even during my tenure as Speaker, I have been involved in politics. However, those interventions were not part of the party politics. I made it clear from the beginning of the term,” he said.
