At present, around 6,000 students study for various courses at the college presently. This apart, several new students have secured admission. However, the college is unable to function due to the agitation, it noted.
Attempts to shift the college to Malappuram has begun and the entire process requires one year’s time, the affidavit said and demanded the High Court to take measures to deploy Central force to provide security to the institution till it is shifted to Malappuram.
The CITU is conducting agitation at the Medical College from last month citing various labour problems. Following this, the functioning of the hospital and the medical college have come to a standstill.
