Will remain with Kerala Congress (M); Continue efforts to unite factions: C F Thomas
Kottayam: Senior Kerala Congress (M) leader C.F. Thomas said the party will move ahead and the problems between the Mani and Joseph factions will be resolved through discussions.
“I was one among the five persons, along with K M Mani, present when the party was named. Hence, I was, am and will be with Kerala Congress (M),” said Thomas.
The senior leader said that he had been speaking to P J Joseph and Jose K Mani while the difference between the two factions was growing. Although it has resulted in a split, in the party, I would continue my efforts to reach an agreement between the two factions.
“The discussions held under the leadership of senior leaders were effective. But the party ended up splitting. Even now, the possibility of reaching a consensus cannot be ruled out. Whoever, it will be even more difficult,” said Thomas.
The difference in opinion over the party chairman post following the demise of party leader K M Mani has now resulted in the split in Kerala Congress (M). The parallel meeting was called by Jose K Mani after P J Joseph refused to convene a state committee meeting to elect the new chairman.
