Kasaragod: KPCC President Mullappally Ramachandran has stated that UDF will not scrap the Life Mission Project if elected to power. Mullappally also welcomed the investigation into the project. UDF convener MM Hassan had stated earlier they would scrap the Life mission project of LDF government if UDF returns to power.
Mullappally stated that the Congress party has a clear perspective on Life Mission project. The project will not be scrapped. Congress governments in the past have designed and implemented housing projects for thousands of poor people in the state. If UDF comes to power, housing will be ensured for all citizens in the state.
MM Hassan’s statement regarding scrapping of Life Mission project came during the LSG Polls. Later, it was evaluated that the statement had a negative impact on UDF during the LSG Polls.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Pandalam Sudhakaran told Mathrubhumi News that the statement was a slip of tongue on the part of the UDF convener. He also clarified that UDF is not against the Life Mission project that provides housing to the poor, rather it is the corruption behind the project that the party is opposing.
