Will do everything humanly possible in Pettimudy, says MM Mani
Rajamala: Minister MM Mani stated that the state government is deeply saddened by the tragedy that took place in Idukki district’s Pettimudy. The minister will be visiting the area soon and the Revenue minister will also reach shortly.
MM Mani informed that the government will provide all help to the families of those killed by the disaster. He added that all those who died are the legal labourers of the company and hence the company would have a moral responsibility to protect them.
The government would do everything humanly possible to rescue all those trapped under the debris, however, things are complicated and the region is still receiving heavy rainfall, he said.
All dams are getting filled. Hence the water from small dams have been released. The Minister also stated that as per earlier decision water would be released from Idukki dam if it reaches that stage.
