Will CM demand Jaleel's resignation, asks Chennithala?
Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala said that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is not demanding resignation of minister K T Jaleel fearing the probe would reach his office too. The government has lost the right to continue in power and they should resign and face election, he stated.
It is a disgrace for Kerala as a minister has been interrogated by a central agency. A minister is questioned by the NIA for the first time in the history of Kerala. The only thing we all want to know is whether the CM would demand his resignation, Chennithala said.
“Jaleel covered his face to enter NIA office. The NIA questions those who committed scheduled crimes like terrorist activities and sedition charges. So, it is shameful for the state that a minister is quizzed by them,” he said.
Corrupt activities of the government are coming out day by day. Even then the CM is trying to protect the corrupt persons and hide the crimes. E P Jayarajan, Thomas Chandy and A K Saseendran were not named accused in cases, but they resigned. Why this ethics is not applicable for Jaleel, Chennithala asked.
He further alleged that the government is associated with industrialists and corporates. The son of party secretary is involved in drug case and CM remains quiet. The media should find out the other minister who is involved in the case relating to Swapna Suresh, he said.
