The government advocate said the state has requested for concession on this regard and that only if the Centre allows, expats will be kept under home quarantine.

Kochi: The Kerala government told the High Court that it would appeal for relaxation regarding the quarantine of expats, who will reach the state in the coming days.

The government advocate was responding to the query on the decision to keep people without any symptoms in home isolation.

The High Court instructed that the state government should follow all the guidelines issued by the Central government. The court was referring to the decision to keep expats under home quarantine. The Central government mandates institutional quarantine for expats.

The government advocate responded that the state has requested for concession on this regard and that only if the Centre allows, expats will be kept under home quarantine.

The state government also made it clear in the court that all the guidelines of the central government will be adhered to and that all facilities have been arranged for expats.
