Thrissur: A KSRTC bus en route from Chalakudy to Malakkapara was attacked by a wild tusker here on Wednesday. The incident took place around 8 pm at Ambalapara.

According to the passengers, the elephant, popularly known as 'Kabali' rushed towards the bus, lifted the vehicle using its tusks and blocked the route. Video of the incident has been circulated on social media.

The Chalakudy-Malakkapara bus service, scheduled at 5 pm, was delayed by around three hours due to the jumbo attack. However, no casualties were reported.

Last week, the elephant had made a private bus go in reverse for 8 kilometres on the Anamala road. The driver of the bus, Ambujakshan, had to go in reverse gear as the road was congested with no space to turn the bus around.
