Palakkad: Amid the growing concerns of a tiger on prowl in Wayanad, Mannarkkad natives here approached the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of the region with a complaint on the suspected presence of a leopard. The natives visited the officials by Sunday 7 PM after their goats went missing.
They raised suspicion over the presence of a leopard in the region and added that pugmarks of the leopard were also spotted. The residents demanded the officials to catch the wild animal immediately.
Some claimed that they have spotted the leopard’s pugmark and remains of goats that were gone missing. After receiving the complaint, the officials visited the spot for examination. It is learnt that DFO has approved the public's demand to place a cage for trapping the leopard.
