Ankritha Rashmeeth in 'Why? The Muusical'
Dubai: A little girl from Kannur won the hearts of the audience with her exceptional performance at the special music show of AR Rahman in Dubai Expo 2020. The 10-year-old Elayavoor native Ankritha Rashmeeth played the role of ‘Mariyam’ in ‘Why? The Musical’, a dance-music drama directed by the renowned filmmaker Shekhar Kapur. Academy and Grammy Award-winning musical composer AR Rahman rendered music for the spectacular programme.
Ankritha portrayed the role of a curious girl who observes the world with wonder along with her wise old grandfather. The other characters were enacted by Jaaved Jaffrey, Subhshri and William Zappa.The musical event has been an appreciation for Ankritha who proved excellence in acting and modelling from a very young age.
She has been modelling for many international brands including Emirates Airlines, Centre Point and Toyota. She also performed as a model for the advertisements of the Dubai Expo and another with Shah Rukh Khan.
A 45-minutes drama ‘Why? The Musical’ was scheduled to perform on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8 pm in Al Wasl Plaza on the world's largest 360-degree projection screen. Ankritha, a student of fifth grade at GEMS Founders school in Dubai, is the daughter of Rashmeeth and Nikhila.
