Kochi: The BJP leader and Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan while reacting to a question of a media person on Sunday said that the important question is on who smuggled the gold and who took the dollar away. The Left is trying to evade answering it by bringing up unnecessary questions, he said.

A media person had asked about Muraleedharan's take on Left front’s question that in spite of central agencies probe into the Gold Smuggling case, why the officials have not yet identified where the gold is. Terming it as whataboutery, Muraleedharan pointed out that “it does not matter where the gold is” and the concern is over the individuals who are involved in the act.

Commenting on yet another question posed by a media person, enquiring whether central agencies have stalled the investigation in the case, Muraleedharan said that “no where it is said that probe has been winded up and the case is before the court”.

According to Muraleedharan, the Customs are probing two cases over the matter and the Enforcement will soon decide on its future course based on the evidence before it.

Muraleedharan also alleged that the state government in an unprecedented manner is witch-hunting the ED official concerned by slapping cases against the person.
