Kochi: Opposition leader VD Satheesan on Friday said that UDF has no role in the cyberattack against LDF’s Thrikkakara bypoll candidate Dr Jo Joseph.
According to Satheesan, it is not people who shared the purported video defaming Joseph should be booked. Instead, the person who started the campaign should be arrested. He mockingly added that if the origin of the video is ascertained then the accuser will end up as the accused.
It may be noted that soon after Satheesan made these remarks, the police took the custody of five individuals over the circulation of the purported video. Among them, the arrest of two was recorded. Incidentally, one of the arrested person is an office-bearer of Congress and the other one is a former office-bearer of Youth Congress.
Meanwhile, Satheesan, during his interaction with media persons, referred to the instances in which UDF leaders were victims of cyberattack allegedly orchestrated by LDF and its loyalists. He said UDF members too have families and reputations. He belittled the cyberattack and said it is normal for people to share video they receive.
Satheesan further added that UDF does not have to involve in any defamation campaign to get an edge. He claimed that UDF can win Thrikkakara bypoll with a sound majority.
