Thiruvananthapuram: Finance Minister KN Balagopal declared that the government initiated action to distribute welfare pensions for March and April together in view of the festivals Vishu and Easter.
The welfare pension for April will be given a month earlier and the beneficiaries will thus receive Rs 3,200 at once.
The government will distribute Rs 1746.43 crore for 56.19 lakh pensioners. The distribution of pensions for March and April already started on Saturday, informed the minister.
