Thiruvananthapuram: The Finance Ministry released new guidelines stating that those who receive EPF pensions are eligible only for one more social welfare pension.
The beneficiaries can either claim the welfare pension of the government or pension of the Welfare Fund Board. Pensions of many beneficiaries who receive more than one pension have been blocked. Their pensions have to be restored soon, proposed the Ministry of Finance.
Beneficiaries who were mistakenly added in Sevana software stating that they are receiving EPF pension were also blocked. This will be resolved soon if the secretary of their respective local body recognises that they are not receiving EPF pension.
Pensions of those who collect both social security pension and Welfare Fund Board pension along with the EPF pension have been cut off. Hence the Ministry assured that the pensions will be reestablished soon and the beneficiaries can choose whether to accept the social security pension or Welfare Fund pension along with EPF pension.
If both pensions are provided by the government, the beneficiary can carry on with any one of it.
