Buffer zone map website experiences outage; issue resolved quickly

Thiruvananthapuram: The website where the buffer zone map submitted to the central government was published was down for a while. The website experienced outage as many people opened the website at the same time. The PRD website was down too. The issue was later resolved.

The map includes buffer zones surrounding 22 protected forest areas in the state. The map was submitted to the central government in 2021. The website also had a form for people to file complaints.

The map and report were released as per the decision of the high-level committee which met on Wednesday.

Eco-sensitive zones are represented using pink colour, green for forest, human populated areas are marked using violet, panchayats using black and commercial buildings using red.
