Heavy rains forecast in Kerala for next few days; yellow alert in 12 districts


Though in some districts only yellow alert have been issued, the hilly regions which have already received heavy rains should maintain caution similar to orange alert as in hilly regions isolated heavy rains with lightning are expected.

Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday has forecast isolated heavy rains with lightning and winds in Kerala from October 31 to November 4. Among 14 districts, 13 districts are issued yellow alert. The State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) has issued a warning similar to the orange warning in hilly areas which have received heavy rains in recent days.
