Kerala likely to receive light to moderate rainfall till Thursday

New Delhi: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread light to moderate rainfall in Kerala till Thursday. Yellow alert has been issued in several districts from Monday to Thursday.

Yellow alert

Monday - Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam

Tuesday - Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam

Wednesday - Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam

Thursday - Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam

Trains cancelled

Four trains have been cancelled on Monday as track maintenance works are progressing in Thiruvananthapuram-Nagarcoil route where mudslide occurred.

Kollam-Thiruvananthapuram daily express (No 06425), Nagarcoil-Thiruvananthapuram daily train (06426), Thiruvananthapuram-Nagarcoil daily express (06427) and Thiruvananthapuram-Nagarcoil daily express (06435) were cancelled completely.

Secunderabad-Thiruvananthapuram Sabari express (17230) that starts from Secunderabad on Sunday and Monday, and Nizamuddin-Ernakulam daily train (12646) that starts on Tuesday also were cancelled. Apart from these trains, several other trains were partially cancelled.

IMD prediction

Apart from Kerala, light to moderate rainfall is predicted in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry also.

"Light to moderate scattered/fairly widespread rainfall over Karnataka, Kerala & Mahe and Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal during next 5 days. Isolated heavy rainfall over Tamilnadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and Kerala & Mahe during next 5 days and over Coastal Karnataka on 21st Nov," IMD tweeted.

The IMD also predicted that isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall also likely be over Tamilnadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on November 24 and 25.
