Mananthavady: A Wayanad native went reportedly missing from a ship travelling from Visakhapatnam to Gujarat. Prajith NS, hailing from Valad in Mananthavady, went missing while working as a Trainee officer on the ship 'Viswa Ekta', owned by the Shipping Corporation of India.

The company officials informed the family that he went missing while the ship was on the way to Gujarat, carrying goods from Visakhapatnam. Prajith last contacted the family on Friday. The message to his mother read that the journey would take a few more days before arriving at the final destination.

On Saturday, the shipping company informed the family that he was found missing while taking attendance in the morning. Further, he was last seen going to sleep in his room on Friday night. Meanwhile, the shipping company informed the family that a search was ongoing in the area and will continue until Monday afternoon.

Prajith is an engineering graduate and joined the company on September 13.
