Leopard trapped in Kalpetta


The leopard has been a nightmare for the locals for the past two weeks. It had attacked goats and other pets in the houses nearby.

Kalpetta (Wayanad): A leopard that entered the human inhabitation has been trapped in a cage set up by the forest department. The big cat was trapped at Goodalikunnu in Kalpetta on Friday morning.

The leopard has been a nightmare for the locals for the past two weeks. It had attacked goats and other pets in the houses nearby.

Though the forest department searched for the leopard following complaints, they could not locate it. Finally, a CCTV was installed two weeks ago and the image of the leopard was captured in it.

The leopard has been taken to Muthanga early morning. The forest department is planning to release it in the forest area.
