Water level in Idukki dam rising; Blue alert issued


Once water level touches 2,398.85 feet, shutters of the dam will be opened.

Idukki: In the wake of increasing water level in Idukki dam, an initial alert has been issued. As the water level touched 2,391.04 feet, Blue alert was issued.

If the water level touches 2,396.85 feet by before October 20, Ornage alert will be issued and if it reaches 2,397.85 feet, Red alert will be issued.

Once water level touches 2,398.85 feet, shutters of the dam will be opened.

The increasing water level in the dam is attributed to the inflow from catchment areas which received intense rainfall in the past few days.
