Thiruvananthapuram: Instead of initiating action, the legislative assembly secretariat chose to issue a warning to the staff of MLAs and a group of journalists for capturing visuals of scuffle in front of the speaker’s office.

Members of the opposition and watch and ward employees had locked horns in front of the speaker’s office on March 15. A notice was issued to 12 people including opposition MLAs and 3 journalists for violating the law which prohibits them from recording/live telecasting the proceedings at the assembly building.

The under secretary issued the warning to the offenders. However the case against opposition MLAs may be revoked.

Meanwhile speaker A N Shamseer has forwarded the violation of rights notices issued in the case by Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala and CPM MLA V K Prashanth to a special committee for further inspection.
