Walayar: The Palakkad special POCSO court discarded the chargesheet filed by CBI in the Walayar minor sisters’ sexual assault and death case. The court ordered CBI to reinvestigate the case, by considering the demand raised by the victims’ family.

The court noted that the chargesheet submitted by CBI has nothing in variance with the chargesheet of the Crime Branch submitted to the court earlier. The investigation inferred that the minor sisters’ deaths were suicide and nothing could be found to substantiate the allegation of murder.

Following this, the children’s mother approached the court seeking to scrap the chargesheet and commence a reprobe in the case. Court has approved the request of the mother.

The accused, who were arrested in connection with the case were later released under bail evoking huge public protests. The court had ordered a CBI probe after noting the mother’s plea and the government’s decision.

Along with requesting a reinvestigation, the mother of the deceased children also demanded to change the current investigation officer in the case.
