Walayar case: Panchayat member says key accused has CPM links
Palakkad: A panchayat member in Walayar here, where two minor girls were found to have committed suicide, has revealed that the accused who were acquitted by the court have political connections. It was CPM panchayat member Sudarshan who confirmed party links of the accused.
Sudarshan told Mathrubhumi News that key accused Madhu is member of a CPM supporting family. He added that the family of the deceased girls also has party affiliation but they are speaking against the party due to the present circumstances.
Sudarshan further said that the accused are not given any responsibility within the organisation. The third accused Pratheesh is an RSS supporter and the other accused in the case are CPM followers, he stated.
Earlier, the girls’ mother had alleged that the accused belong to CPM and they were released due to intervention of the CPM local leadership. However, RSS rejected allegations that Pratheesh who hails from Alappuzha has connection with their party.
