Palakkad: Upholding the findings of the police investigation, CBI has submitted the charge sheet in the Walayar case. The charge sheet reported that the girls who are siblings committed suicide. Four charge sheets were submitted before Palakkad POCSO court alleging rape and other offences over the suicide of the two girls aged 13 and 9. There are three charge sheets over the death of the first girl and four are booked in this case.
The CBI charge sheet has named four accused including Cheriya Madhu, Valiya Madhu, Shibu and a minor who were booked by the police. Though the accused are the same, more witnesses have been added to the case. The charge sheet stated that the two girls committed suicide and its motive was rape and other reasons.
The charge sheet pointed out the physical and sexual abuse as the reasons which forced the girls to commit suicide. There are more statements by witnesses that strengthen the case.
The case that was earlier investigated by the local police had been handed over to the Crime Branch. Though similar allegations were raised over the death of the girls, the police had not investigated the reasons behind the suicide. The CBI has drawn conclusions over this in their investigation. The Palakkad POCSO court had acquitted all the accused in the case earlier.
