Chennai: Due to the surge in daily COVID-19 cases in Kerala, the authorities have introduced stringent measures for people visiting Tamil Nadu from Kerala. The rules were intensified by the Coimbatore district administration.

It is mandatory for the people to produce a RT-PCR negative report taken within 72 hours if they are not fully vaccinated. Meanwhile, the fully vaccinated individuals should produce the vaccination certificate. If they fail to comply with these measures, they are supposed to undergo COVID testing at the check posts.

The stringent measures on border points including Walayar were introduced in the wake of rising COVID-19 cases in Kerala.

People entering Kerala are asked to produce the RT-PCR negative report or vaccination certificate only at Coimbatore and Nilagiri border points. E-pass issued by Tamil Nadu government is only required in other locations.
