Palakkad: The winner of Kerala State Lotteries Department’s Christmas- New Year bumper remains anonymous even after a day of announcing the first prize. The lottery ticket carrying the number ‘XD236433’ sold in Palakkad won the first prize worth Rs 16 crore. The ticket was bought from Thamarassery sub office and sold at Sree Mookambika lottery agency near KSRTC stand in Palakkad.
Lottery agent Madhusoodanan said that passengers from various districts and even Tamil Nadu purchase lottery tickets from his store. No one has approached him yet with the first prize winning lottery ticket, he added. The number of lottery customers from other states were high this time as it was Sabarimala Mandalam season.
Madhusoodanan usually collects only bumper tickets from Thamarassery. He had bought 31,000 Christmas- New Year bumper lottery tickets this time.
