Thrissur: Amid the uproar over police’s mishandling of the sexual abuse complaint from a woman against four men including Wadakkanchery Municipality Councillor, an inquiry by Thrissur Range IG M R Ajith Kumar found that there had been lapses on the part of police in the case.
The IG found that the investigators did not show proper attentiveness in the case in which politicians were involved. The new investigation team will have a woman police official.
The Peramangalam CI did not take appropriate steps over the complaint. An inquiry will be conducted in this regard and necessary action will be taken, said Ajith Kumar, who is in-charge of the probe.
