Kochi: The voice clip circulating on social media claiming that there was medical negligence at Kalamassery Medical College is baseless and false, said Kalamassery Medical College RMO Dr. Ganesh Mohan.
The nursing officer has been on leave for one month and is not engaged in coronavirus prevention activities. She gave a written explanation that the voice clip was sent to keep her subordinates on alert and that there were no problems in the hospital, the RMO added.
No medical negligence
Hospital authorities said that the death of a COVID-19 patient named Harris was not a result of medical negligence. Harris was under treatment from June 26 to July 20. He was COVID positive even during the time of his death. He displayed severe symptoms of the virus. He was also suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity and other ailments.
He was undergoing treatment with the help of an NIV ventilator. The tubing of this ventilator will not come off. It is not true that officials decided to shift him to the ward. He showed severe symptoms of COVID-19 and was under intense care 24x7 for 24 days, the officials added.
