Thiruvananthapuram: Vizhinjam Samara Samithi convener Eugine H Pereira said they would inform the state government of their stand on their demands regarding issues raised by the fishing community. The protestors in Vizhinjam would submit a reply in written form before the cabinet sub-committee on Monday.

Meanwhile, Samara Samithi is also requesting the state government to announce a comprehensive relief package for the fishing folk in Vizhinjam affected by the construction of the port.

Earlier, a meeting between the cabinet sub-committee and representatives of Thiruvananthapuram Latin Archdiocese failed after much of the demands tabled by Samara Samithi were not considered by the government. Further, the stand taken by Chief Minister in the matter irked protestors.
