Kochi: Adani group has filed a fresh contempt plea against Kerala government for non-compliance of court order pertaining to the police protection at transhipment port project site in Vizhinjam.
The plea will be adjudicated by Justice Anu Sivaraman’s bench on Thursday.
Earlier on September 1, the Kerala High Court, while considering a plea filed by Adani Ports seeking police protection from those protesting against the construction of the port, had directed the state police to ensure law and order on the port site. The court also issued notice to the protesters.
The Adani Group, then stated that the ongoing agitation was a threat to the life of employees and the government was not taking any action in this regard despite making representations.
The new development comes at this juncture.
