Guruvayur: The visuals of an elephant running amok inside Guruvayur Sree Krishna temple have surfaced now. The incident that shocked the devotees happened on November 10 morning near the southern entrance of the temple.

The tusker named ‘Damodar Das’ turned furious while returning after the temple procession. Several devotees were present at the spot and the visuals were recorded by a cameraman, who was carrying out a photoshoot of a newlywed couple there.

The elephant pushed the first mahout down and soon lifted him using the tusk. Fortunately, the mahout could escape and the second mahout, who was seated atop the elephant could pacify the elephant.

The onlookers opined that the escape of the first mahout AV Radhakrishnan was miraculous. Later, the elephant was brought under control and tied to a tree on the temple premises.
