Vishnupriya murder: Police take Koothuparamba native Shyamjith into custody

Kannur: Police have taken Manantheri native Shyamjith into custody in the murder of Vishnupriya in Panoor. He was nabbed by pinning his location based on the information from mobile phone towers.

The 23-year-old woman was stabbed to death inside her house on Saturday noon.

Shyamjith fled the location after killing her. Though some natives saw him passing through the road, none of them could identify him. Police narrowed down on Shyamjith based on the information from social media and the phone records of Vishnupriya.

Shyamjith reportedly told police he was upset as their alleged affair broke when she became closer to another person.

Vishnupriya suffered grave injuries in the attack. Her head was almost severed. Deep cuts on arms were also present. She was found dead inside her bedroom in the house in Panoor. She was all alone in the house when the crime took place.
