Puducherry: With more vehicles plying with Puducherry registration coming under the scanner in the state, the latest to feature in the news series 'VIP fraudsters' aired by Mathrubhumi News is actor Fahad Fazil.
Besides Amala Paul, young actor Fahadh Fazil too has registered his luxury vehicle in Puducherry under a fake address to evade tax and this was uncovered by Mathrubhui News.
Those who register their luxury vehicles in Kerala for Rs 14 lakh need to pay just Rs 1.5 lakh in Puducherry for their registration. But the person must reside in Puducherry to register his vehicle. This was misused by many stars and they opted to go for a Puducherry registration.
In the investigation conducted by Mathrubhumi News, the Benz E car used by Fahadh Fazil PY-05-9899 is registered in Puducherry. The fake address given for registration was Fahadh Fazil, No 16, 2nd Cross Road, Pudhupet, Lawspet, Puducherry.
But when probed, the address belonged to a small family living on the top floor of a rented place.
