Thiruvananthapuram: A violent mob attacked a circle inspector of the Vigilance wing of Kerala Police at Vembayam in Thiruvananthapuram. CI Yahiya Khan was assaulted in front of his residence on Monday at around 11.30 pm. He is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kanyakulangara.
The wedding anniversary of an Air Force officer was held on Monday night at Royal auditorium in Thekkada. A few of the guests who arrived to attend the function parked their vehicles hindering the way to CI’s house, which was near the auditorium. This irked the CI and soon a verbal spat broke out between him and the guests. Following this, a group of men arrived and attacked the CI.
Police reached the spot and arrested five persons who unleashed the attack. A case has been registered against 15 persons as of now, informed police.
