Violence against health workers: Strict action will be taken, says health minister

Thiruvananthapuram: Health minister Veena George said that the violence against health workers cannot be justified or accepted at any cost.

The incident in which Dr Rahul was manhandled amid Covid duty was highly condemnable. We understand the pain of Dr Rahul and stand by him, the minister added.

Strong action will be taken into such incidents. The accused will not be protected at any cost. It is learnt that the police is moving to arrest the accused. No incident which adversely affect the self-esteem of the health workers will not be accepted, the minister made it clear.

The government has taken a strong and clear stand on the incident. The health workers are working hard during the Covid crisis. So, the atrocities against them cannot be allowed, the minister stated.
