Violence against health workers: HC directs to take strict action
Kochi: The Kerala High Court intervened in the issue of increasing cases of violence against the health workers in the state. The Court advised the government to take strict actions against those who engage in such brutal acts.
The High Court had made the remark while considering a case regarding the cost of Covid treatment. It pointed out several incidents in this regard.
The hospital authorities complained that the police had refused to register FIR on such attacks against the health workers. The court directed that the police should not fail to protect the health workers including doctors who work as part of Covid resistance activities.
Earlier, the IMA and KGMOA members conducted protests and the Chief Minister had assured that stringent actions will be taken against those who attack the health workers in the state.
