Vinay meets Binu Pazhayidath who posted hi story on Facebook
Kochi: Vinay came riding his bicycle to meet Binu Pazhayidath, a senior civil police officer at Nedumbassery police station, who changed his life through a Facebook post. Vinay was overjoyed as he received phone calls from many including actor Mohanlal after his life story was published in Mathrubhumi weekend edition.
"Many people called me, but I was wonder-struck when Mohanlal sir called. He said he is in Chennai and we can meet when he comes to Kochi. He also offered help for my studies and all," Vinay shared the happy news with Binu.
Binu happened to meet Vinay, a Plus Two student, during the initial days of lockdown while he was going to a community kitchen to collect food. As he further inquired, Binu came to know that Vinay lost his parents and was surviving by selling lotteries at Kochi airport. He manages his studies and house rent with this income. His ambition is to become a movie actor and also he wishes to meet his relatives.
As Vinay's income stopped during lockdown, the boy was struggling to make the ends meet but he refused to give up. He even survived on bread and water. Binu posted a note on Vinay's life on his Facebook account and it was widely noticed. Following this, Mathrubhumi published a feature on him and people started calling him to laud his determination.
Writer M Leelavathi showed interest to meet Vinay and help him. Director Ranjith and magician Gopinath Muthukad also expressed willingness to take up his responsibilities and help him continue education. MP Benny Behanan, MLAs Anwar Sadath and K Kunhiraman, Ernakulam collector S Suhas, businessmen Anees Adam from Kozhikode and C K Anilkumar from Thrissur and many others also came forward to help Vinay.
